The cache is situated at the premier vantage point to view the old and the new Shoalhaven bridges. The closest, the new bridge, was opened in 1980 and the old bridge was opened 99 years earlier in 1881. The old bridge was made by the Edgemore Iron Company, Wilmington, Delaware, U.S.A. and brought to Nowra on two schooners. It was erected in sixteen months just over half the time it took to build the new bridge. The Golf Club just behind you is an 18 hole par 68 public course and has a fine restaurant and bar at reasonable prices with great views. The Golf Course goes under when the Shoalhaven River floods.
