The cache is located just off a footpath in Wormley Wood. This
is the only National Nature Reserve in Hertfordshire. It comprises
an ancient woodland, managed for timber and coppice since the
Middle Ages, boasting fine specimens of oak, hornbeam, and birch.
Small streams thread through the woodland, as well as ancient earth
banks which are probably remnants of late Bronze Age field systems,
and possibly of Saxon kingdom boundaries. There are several well
marked and maintained footpaths and bridleways which allow easy
access through the woods.
