Metaphorical translation (camo negation)
We all like to provide a bit of camoflague to our caches.
But what about applying camoflague to an entire building?? I can still see it though ... can't you?
This cache is ANTI-CAMO ... its HIGH-VIS.
The Roma Mitchell Law Court Building (140m north of GZ) which sits on 3 Angas St. at the end of Victoria Square cost $96 million to build. It opened in 2006 as was widely acclaimined as Adelaide's "ugliest" building.
The building's appearance is not of conventional steel and glass but it is clad in sandstone and coloured metal panels designed to reflect the colours of the Adelaide hills and plains. [this is the camo bit]
The building makes much use of natural light in the atriums and courtrooms, and at the building's official opening in February 2006 Chief Justice John Black alluded to the symbolic nature of the light and its metaphorical translation to the transparency and visibility of justice which will be dispensed in the building.
The building has grown on me - I especially like the lego-like parts of the building. Take to short walk to Angus Street and have a closer look
