Geocache Description:

The cache was placed by participants and staff at Hulbert Outdoor Center (which you can see from the cache site) during Winter Family Camp. It's a small white food container and not too hard to find.

Captain Samuel Morey's grave is in nearby Orford, NH. This cache's site is a beautiful overlook on Lake Morey, named after the aforementioned inventor, whose steamboat is, according to lore, sunk somewhere in the middle of the lake. National Geographic tried to find it in the 80s but without any luck. Several musicians who attended Camp Lanakila (Hulbert Outdoor Center's form in the summer months) wrote a song about 'Captain' Morey over the years, and you'll find sheet music and lyrics to the song inside the cache - enjoy a little sing-song as you take in the beautiful view across the lake, whether in winter or summer.
