Geocache Description:

This is the first cache in a series of twelve on a route of about 3.5 miles through the beautiful countryside surrounding the lovely village of Braishfield.

The caches vary from 35mm film canisters to small/medium caches along the way.

All caches in the series, apart from #1 contain clues to find a bonus cache. The bonus cache has now been removed so you no longer need to collect the clues as you go round.

There is parking across the road from this cache for two cars (although the owner of the adjacent property would prefer people to park on the opposite side of the road to the stable block). There is also additional parking in the village.

Please note that part of this trail is along country lanes that, although rarely used, are still roads so you will need to be careful along these stretches, particularly if out with smaller geocachers. Braishfield Road in particular, can be quite busy so take particular care when walking this stretch.

This series was set in the winter when some of the footpaths were VERY muddy, particularly after 8a so appropriate footwear is recommended. In the summer, the paths from #1 to #2 and from #4 to #5 become very overgrown so long sleeves and a trekking pole (for bashing stinging nettles) is recommended, particularly between #4 and #5. The rest of the trail should be OK.

I hope you enjoy finding these caches as much as we enjoyed placing them.
