5 - Two Pints Trail Traditional Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
This is the fifth cache in a series of twelve on a route of about 3.5 miles through the beautiful countryside surrounding the lovely village of Braishfield. I have increased the terrain rating to 2.5 for this one as the walk here in the summer is extremely overgrown and difficult to get through. The cache itself is in a terrain 1.5 location but getting here warrants a 2.0 rating.
The caches vary from 35mm film canisters to small/medium caches along the way. Please note that part of this trail is along country lanes that, although rarely used, are still roads so you will need to be careful along these stretches, particularly if out with smaller geocachers. Braishfield Road in particular, can be quite busy so take particular care when walking this stretch. This series was set in the winter when some of the footpaths were VERY muddy, particularly after 8a so appropriate footwear is recommended. In the summer, the paths from #1 to #2 and from #4 to #5 become very overgrown so long sleeves and a trekking pole (for bashing stinging nettles) is recommended, particularly between #4 and #5. The rest of the trail should be OK. I hope you enjoy finding these caches as much as we enjoyed placing them.
