Geocache Description:

Yarrowyck Crossing

Yarrowyck Crossing is a picnic/BBQ area located on the sandy banks on the Gwydir. Once upon a time, there was a low level bridge crossing the river here, but this washed away some time ago.

Access to the area is from a dirt track, which starts on the Thunderbolt's Way, about 20km west of Uralla (S 30° 30.286 E 151° 22.650). The road can be pretty bumpy, and water often crosses the road at the floodway - check the depth before you cross.

Once you get there you can have a BBQ on the provided facilities, and there are picnic tables and toilets too. There's plenty of good places to swim, and there's a natural waterslide through slippery granite rocks about 300m downstream. Or just build sandcastles - it's up to you... but don't forget to look for the cache. It's a regular lock and lock container, with plenty of swaps. There's a little bit of wire laying around GZ - mind your step.
