leading to a BEACH!

Come and find out in a tour
of the Cape Town Sewers!
The tour is happening on Sunday 15 January at 10am to about 1pm.
It will take about 3 hours to walk right under Cape Town. MEET AT
THE CASTLE IN THE PARKING OFF DARLING STREET AT THE LISTED
COORDINATES!
We drive from the Castle and start the walk on the lower slopes
of the mountain and walk under Cape Town to the centre of Town.
A reasonable level of fitness is required. The way is sometimes
steep, sometimes slippery and completely dark. The tour takes about
3 hours - it is a LONG walk. The cost is R250 CASH per person. This
is a markedly discounted rate (Usually R350 for the extended tour)!
It includes the cost of the guide, permits to be in the tunnel, and
a fee paid to the Castle.
You will need to bring:
- Cash
- A torch or headlamp
- old clothing
- good shoes, that are not going to slip in the wet
- a change of clothes / bathing suite (for later)
- Your wits
There are only
20 places available
on the tour. Book your place now by replying that you will attend.
I know some have already asked for me to book a place for them, but
to be fair, bookings will be done on a first come first served
basis. Apologies if you miss out! Remember to watch the
listing!
Some of you may have vouchers, they MAY be valid, but there is
more than one company that does the tour. Bring your voucher just
in case.
For
those who cannot do the tour, meet us on the beach!!
We will be gathering at 1:30pm at
THE GRAND restaurant in Granger Bay (at S 33 54.100 E 18
24.933) for lunch and
drinks. Great fun for the kids who can play on the
beach!
Please reply ASAP if you are
coming to The Grand for lunch (even those on the tunnel tour) as
space may become limited.
