7 Tips for Rebuilding Society
Ok, so the zombie appocalypse weighs heavy on your mind right
now. Hey, that's completely understandable. Survival and all that.
Yeah, do your thing and stay alive. That is pretty important, after
all.
But, hey, one day there will come a time for rebuilding society.
Its important to think ahead to when all the zombies have been
rounded up and sent off someplace else (maybe to the moon or
something). The point is, you will need a plan. Here's a 7-step
program to get you started. Feel free to append to this list in
your logs.
The way I see it though, rebuilding society is going to come
down to one thing: information. And there's one really awesome
place to go for that. Your local library. You can bet on the local
library having information on farming, how and where to build
houses, etc. Its all there.
- Find your local library - Libraries contain
shelves, which contain books, which contain important info and
stuff. Consider reading a few of the books, assuming they haven't
been burned for fuel during the zombie appocalypse. You'll be
smarter for it.
- Make friends with your local librarian -
Assuming the librarians haven't been zombified then rounded up and
sent off to where ever captured zombies go, a librarian will come
in clutch for deciphering the books and filing system in the
library. Plus, you kind of need a librarian to unlock the library
building for you, and you can't really take any books home unless
the librarian says its OK (and checks out the book to your
account). Librarians are pretty much awesome anyway, so its good to
have one as a friend regardless.
- Bring your reading glasses - You'll be reading
a lot of books, so your eyes will get tired. Plus, reading glasses
make you look cool, so there's that too.
- Bring your library card - Reading books inside
the library is awesome and all, but sometimes you will want to take
an important book home. You'll need a library card to do
that.
- Bring small change for the copy machine - The
really (and I do mean REALLY) important and good books are
probably going to be in the reference section of the library. You
can't take those home, but you can make copies of the pages
(usually).
- Use the Interwebs - Assuming the series of
internet tubes are still working, the local library is a great
place to access the interwebs. You will probably need a library
card to access the tubes though, but you already brought that with
you, right?
- Always bring a towel - A towel is about the
most massively useful thing a society rebuilder can have. Always
know where your towel is.
This is not a night cache. Do not attempt
this cache after dusk and before sunrise, or you will be guilty of
trespassing.
