Geocache Description:

Women of the Woods

This cache is a tribute to the women of geocaching who inspire their friends and family to get out into the woods and into nature. They hike the trails, climb the trees, and crawl into the bushes, never worrying about dirt under the fingernails, thorns in the clothing, or thistles in the hair. Way to go!

Cache is on a remote trail, slippery slope, and leafy underbrush, but once there it’s easy to spot.
There is both a bike trail and a dirt hiking trail.
It's a bit easier to approach from the paved bike path.
As you're going down hill you will see some green fences.
Then you will see a yellow Right Turn sign. If you reach the sign you've gone too far.
You will see the hill cut away on the left (East) side and near that a landslide
of blue-white rocks.
Enter the downward slope at the blue rocks heading north.
You will see the cache at the base of one of the trees..

Short hike: Park on Mountain Oak Ct. (Folsom-Auburn road to south on Oak Ave Parkway, left on Deerwood, right on Mountain Oak) then hike down the American River Bike Trail. Under ¼ mile.

Long hike: Park at the free garage at Leidesdorff Street at Reading, then hike north-east over the Trestle Bridge, turn right onto the American River bike trail, then bear left where it rises into the woods. About 6000 feet one way.

Congrats to Mapdork & (in spirit) Twinklewink for FTF!
