Geocache Description:

The Texas Spirit Quest
is a series of Caches placed by many individuals, near cemeteries and historic sites in hopes of paying respect to the many pioneer ancestors that have ‘walked’ before us.

There are hundreds of cemeteries in the rural communities across Texas. This series will introduce you to many of them. The cache pages will provide a virtual history tour of the cemeteries, tombstones and local lore.

This site is alternately known as the Fairview Cemetery, although there is another location by that name not terribly far away. There are as many as 130 interments here, for members of the Bolt, Hart, Lohman(n), Maynard, Pope, West, and Williamson families, among many others. Burial dates range from 1882 to 2011.

The grounds are fenced and feature a sign from the Texas Historical Commission. They're located next to the old Nameless School. However, they're also located right next to someone's house. There's a gate right off the main road that leads to this intermingling of properties, so to avoid any awkwardness, the cache has been placed by the roadside. You can go ahead and enter if you like and take a quick peek, but it is probably best to avoid annoying the living residents. At any rate, as always, any refinements to the listed coordinates are welcomed.
