One can locate the necessary decimal minutes of the final coordinates at the published coordinates. e.g.: S35 xx.xxx E137 xx.xxx Unless going for a swim tickles your fancy, or you have access to a watercraft, you will need to find when the low tide is to be able to walk out. The cache is located approximately 1.5km away by foot and there is parking near GZ.

The following information was extracted from, ‘The Jetties of South Australia – Past and Present’ by Neville Collins. ‘A period of 50 years elapsed from when a jetty was first proposed for Coobowie before one was erected. The Observer of 21 August 1875 records a meeting being called to discuss the need for a jetty but what was resolved is not known. The jetty was completed on 14 August 1925 and opened by the chairman of the Harbours Board, Mr E.A. Farquhar, and remained in operation until being demolished in 1953. The only evidence today is two piles joined by a single timber brace which was the point where the stone causeway ended and the jetty commenced. During its life grain and salt were the principal exports.’ After the causeway was demolished, the stone was collected, and used to build many houses in the region.
