Geocache Description:

Florida cracker architecture is a style of woodframe structure used somewhat widely in the 19th century in Florida. They are characterized by metal roofs, raised floors (for cooling), large porch areas (for sittin). From where you are now, across US1 is such a structure. This little "cracker" store had many a traveler stop in for gasoline, a cold drink, or just a stretch of the legs along US1 when it was the only road down to Miami. My Mom, Marshbunny, remembers stopping here several times when she was a young girl and getting to a grab a peppermint stick out of the big candy jars that lined the counter.
