An easy circular walk in South Oxfordshire countryside. Mainly on country lanes and paths, consisting of 5 new caches but also taking in Post Post RG4 507 (GC34A8Q) and 89th Reading Scouts II (GC33KMK), with the option of short detours to pick up other local caches.
Junior Firebolt was very keen to mark our first anniversary of caching by setting some of our own. We made him a ‘Geocaching kit’ as part of his Christmas present which had a variety of containers etc. We then spent some of the holiday (in between visiting family and eating) working out this series. The walk has a few ups and downs, which we prefer to do in a clockwise direction. (Each cache could be found separately with just a short flat walk.) Although Tokers Green Lane is a quiet country lane, there can be through traffic so children and dogs should be closely supervised. The other lanes are only used for access. Note : Gravel Hill is closed to through traffic and there is no parking. Suggested parking is in Rokeby Drive in Tokers Green. There is also a playground on this road if you have young children. You are looking for a micro container with no room for pencil so please bring your own. There’s no hint for this one to make is more challenging. Please log DNFs so we can adjust difficulty rating if necessary. *** 23/9/12 - Cache replaced. The replacement cache is NOT the same as the original cache, so you are looking for something different. However, it is more or less in the same place so the co-ords remain the same. You may need tweezers to extract the log. ***
