Geocache Description:

Welcome to Michaniona! This village is well-known for the church before you which features an icon dedicated to the Virgin Mary. On August 15th pilgrims from all across Greece come to pay homage to Virgin Mary at this church.

Cache is not at the listed coordinates but take you to the church where you will solve the puzzle listed below. The church is open daily from 6:30am - 6:30pm and as it is a holy place make sure you are properly dressed.

Before you enter the church, walk around to the left and find the marble plaque, which gives the year that the church was built. It is a small white piece of marble that can be difficult to differentiate from the side of the building, so look carefully! The year the church was constructed is 197A.

Enter the church and count the number of small windows on the dome, this number will be BC.

Next go to the chapel that is to the right of the entrance. In this chapel there is an icon dedicated the Virgin Mary (Panagia). You will also notice that there are several smaller icons on display—pay particular attention to the ones that surround the Panagia and are protected by glass. Count the number of icons, this value will be DE.

Lastly count the number of hanging candles that are in front of the Panagia; this number is F.

Use the values from the puzzle to get the final coordinates, where...

X = A + 1
Y = F + C
Z = B

Q = A
R = C + D
S = E

N 40° 27.XYZ
E 022° 51.QRS
