About the center:
The Whittemore Wildlife Sanctuary is located on Rockaway Road in
Oldwick. The Sanctuary is a 200-acre facility dedicated to
environmental education. The Sanctuary was bequeathed to the
Township by Mrs. Helen A. Whittemore and is governed by a Board of
Trustees. The park has 11 miles of trails for hiking, dog walking
and horseback riding. The trails traverse mainly wooded areas with
wetlands, ravines and hilly terrain. The Rockaway River flows along
the southern border of the property.

About the Series
This is a series of 11 caches (plus this one bonus cache) in the
scenic Whittemore Preserve. Permission has been granted for all of
these caches and should/will be attained for future hides. They can
all be done in just a couple of hours and are designed to be a
loop. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you do a clockwise loop (start at
Snape), this will set you up to find the mystery without too much
extra walking. Boots and bugspray will be a good idea, this park
can get very muddy at times. This park has some minor elevation
changes, but nothing major. Please note that there is almost no
need to bushwack. Refer to the trail map and use them--do not
mindlessly wander between trails. Stop in and visit the nature
center where they have neat gardens and a nice display. There are
coordinates for the final cache in two of the other caches. The
final cache is somewhere between "Ron" and "Bests Directory," (dont
wait until you've finished the loop to plug it into your GPS.)

Please note:The cache locations on the map are
estimated and should be used to only plan your trip.
