Geocache Description:

Another relatively remote moorland cache located in the middle of the beautiful Eyam Moor, away from the busy paths.

Eyam Moor is a large area of heather moorland in a wonderfully central location for this region of Peak District. To the south is Eyam and the Derbyshire Dales, to the North of the moor lies Hatherage and Stanage Edge, the Hope Valley, the Derwent Valley and the Ladybower Reservoir. Towards the west is Castleton and Mam Tor while to the east is Froggatt Edge. Many of these views can be seen from various parts of the moor which sits right in the middle of it all.

This cache is not located on a footpath and will involve a walk through the heather. It's located near some cairns as shown on the OS map in one of the many dips that can be found on this moor. You might want to combine it with the existing Trig point or Stone Circle caches. If you plan to walk cross country between all three (recommended only for serious hikers!) note the waypoint as despite the open access, their is a high dry stone wall in the way and you must not try to cross it. There is one access gap in the wall, and the co-ordinates are given as a waypoint. The cache is quite empty at the moment so if you have anything to add to it's content, please feel free.

When I placed the neighbouring caches a few years ago they celebrated me reaching 100 finds. This new addition marks me reaching 3,000 mark! Well done to cats-eyes for getting here first.
