Geocache Description:

A short walk from the road but with no path and some rocky terrain. Classic ammo can.

This is my first hide and is named after my childhood friend who used to live along this road. We would come hang out in these woods quite often to escape the rigors and parental supervision of suburban life in the 90's. The stream, numerous rock formations, and acres of open space provided us with hours of carefree entertainment.

The land is now owned by Randolph Township as part of their open space program, and is the future home of a section of the Randolph Trails system, according to their website.

If you look nearby at the bend in the stream, you will see the remnants of what appears to be an old dam that once dammed Mill Brook.

*UPDATE* The dam appears to be from the remnants of a saw mill and adjacent pond according to the historical map I have linked to.

I stocked the cache with a few trinkets including a NY Giants can coozie and bottle opener to commemorate their recent victory over the cowboys, sending them into the playoffs for the first time since 2008.

Parking for one or two cars is available in a couple spots on the woods side of Fords road. The cache is a classic ammo can; please re hide it well.
