A beautiful park with a lot of history
Mckenzie State Park is a favorite fishing spot for many. The road into the park is kind of rough. The cache is not hidden near the water. If you go to take a look anyway, be very careful! There is said to be a heiau (sacred spot) there, but we were never able to find it. If you do discover it, please be respectful and do not disturb any part of it. In fact, this entire park should be treated with great respect due to its history in Hawaiian culture.
Lots of muggles. Be sure to place the log back just as you found it. Not near any buildings or picnic area so should be fairly easy to be stealthy. The terrain has changed a bit since the storms and the original cache may have been bulldozed a bit. The new cache is well camoed so you may be looking right at it without seeing it. PLEASE put the log back how you found it.
Congratulations to Wholagal for FTF! WTG!
