Old Harbour View.

This cache is part of the Pirates trail which links our other caches together all the way back to our Waterfall cache near Koycegiz at the North end of the lake GC1RRKT.

This series "The Pirates Trail" will be around 30 caches following the West shoreline of Lake Koycegiz. This lake is around 12.5kms in length and 4kms wide and at the time of hiding this cache there had been very heavy rainfall over a prolonged period which had raised the water level in the lake by 1 metre, an awful lot of water considering the size of the lake, parts of Koycegiz and tourist locations like the Sultaniye Mudbaths were flooded as a result, local elders say that it has been 45 years since they last saw anything like it.
Ancient City of Kaunos
Blokiebloke and ourselves have placed a series of caches in this area to take you to all parts of this ancient city. This cache takes you across to the 3rd hill in the city, over looking the ancient harbour, this harbour was called the Southern Port and was used from the foundation of the city till the end of the Hellenistic era, after which it became inaccesible due to the water becoming to shallow.
