Lookout For A Watery Grave.

This cache is part of the Pirates trail which links our other caches together all the way back to Pirates Trail 1 in the Ancient city of Kaunos at the South end of the lake Koycegiz.
GC3A7FR.
This series "The Pirates Trail" will be around 30 caches following the West shoreline of Lake Koycegiz. This lake is around 12.5kms in length and 4kms wide and at the time of hiding this cache there had been very heavy rainfall over a prolonged period which had raised the water level in the lake by 1 metre, an awful lot of water considering the size of the lake, parts of Koycegiz and tourist locations like the Sultaniye Mudbaths were flooded as a result, local elders say that it has been 45 years since they last saw anything like it. The pictures on the cache pages will give you some idea of what the area looked like when we hid the caches.
Koycegiz.
This cache came about while looking for a suitable location for Pirate Trail 13, as I wandered around the area something on the hillside caught my attention, after a short uphill climb I came upon a trail that eventually led me to these co-ordinates, the object that looks like a coffin made this a suitable location for a cache as it narrows down the search area with GPS reception in the hills and trees always going to be dodgy. I would have gone on further to find out where the track leads but having left my Goose back by the roadside I thought I'd better get back. I am leaving Pirates Trail 11 available for a future cache so if anyone wants to follow the trail and place a cache before either myself or the pirates get there then please do. .
