Geocache Description:

Pirates Trail 19.

This cache is part of the Pirates trail which links our other caches together all the way back to Pirates Trail 1 in the Ancient city of Kaunos at the South end of the lake Koycegiz. GC3A7FR.

This series "The Pirates Trail" will be around 30 caches following the West shoreline of Lake Koycegiz. This lake is around 12.5kms in length and 4kms wide and at the time of hiding this cache there had been very heavy rainfall over a prolonged period which had raised the water level in the lake by 1 metre, an awful lot of water considering the size of the lake, parts of Koycegiz and tourist locations like the Sultaniye Mudbaths were flooded as a result, local elders say that it has been 45 years since they last saw anything like it. The pictures on the cache pages will give you some idea of what the area looked like when we hid the caches.

This cache is a short walk from the parking location up to the very top of Spikey Hill, it isn't a steep climb but ohhhhhhhh the pain, macho man, will, like me, do this in shorts, are you brave enough to pass the guardians (see photo gallery) on the track and then find away through the defences to claim a well earned smilie and enjoy the views over the lake.
