Geocache Description:

Pirates Trail 23.

This cache is part of the Pirates trail which links our other caches together all the way back to Pirates Trail 1 in the Ancient city of Kaunos at the South end of the lake Koycegiz. GC3A7FR.

This series "The Pirates Trail" will be around 30 caches following the West shoreline of Lake Koycegiz. This lake is around 12.5kms in length and 4kms wide and at the time of hiding this cache there had been very heavy rainfall over a prolonged period which had raised the water level in the lake by 1 metre, an awful lot of water considering the size of the lake, parts of Koycegiz and tourist locations like the Sultaniye Mudbaths were flooded as a result, local elders say that it has been 45 years since they last saw anything like it.

This is the second cache that was placed by Sir BFG who on his way back from finding our Waterfall cache thought it was such a nice area that a few more caches might encourage more visitors to venture further afield from the resort areas and see what the real Turkey is like. Please rehide carefully as this location may be subject to maintenance on the highway that leads to the next cache at the crossing point.
