Geocache Description:

This cache is located in the S. Cow Mountain Off-highway vehicle area. It is a private and secluded spot and most vehicles with a little clearance (Subaru Outback or better) should make it just fine.

This area is a great example of responsible off road vehicle use. There are many trails On S. Cow but there are also protected environmentally sensitive areas. The drive will take you along side the edge of Eightmile Valley, a protected area. Search BLM Ukiah for maps and more info.

I have been taking my kids to this spot to shoot their BB guns but it also a good spot to target practice with a real gun, following safe practices and following the BLM regulations for firearm use. There is a small pond adjasent to the parking area I believe was built for fire suppression.
