Geocache Description:

This cache is placed in recognition of the 50th Episode of my favorite Geocaching-related podcast: The Chicago Geocacher Podcast; enthusiastically hosted by Scott and Walt, or is it Walt and Scott.

While listening to episode 34 of the podcast, I heard Scott and Walt discussing some caches they found in Oregon. Naively I assumed they were talking about the great state of Oregon, only to be disappointed by their continued musings of Oregon, Illinois and its many cannons! So with all due respect to OregonThree and their cache 'Scott and Walt Came to Oregon' (GC2FEXX), I placed this cache as a way of raising the bar and inviting the intrepid hosts to Oregon, The Beaver State (ding). We may not have as many cannons, but we do have the town of Cannon Beach; as well as electricity and running water, Walt.

If you enjoy great yarns and storytelling with a tilt toward an adult audience, join Scott and Walt every fortnight and learn about their circle of caching friends and numerous adventures. Though I may never cache the area, it's as if I know the Chicago caching community through Scott and Walt. From jwheels1, to PapaNonny, Tom and Mary Eagle55, n(9tog), monsieur mrxhill, Toppercat, NatalieD!, Tzinny (or is it silent-T zinny, tinzey, zinny, or tunsey), sgauss, Tmaggot from the Bayou, and all the others (I'm probably missing someone)... it's a great time.

It's a moderate hike to the cache, but the view should be reward for the effort. Plenty of room for trade items in the container, so trade away. Starting out with lots of swag, so it should be easy to trade your items of equal or greater value.

Great view of Portland, the Columbia River, and Mount Hood from ground zero, so bring your camera!

Happy Caching and Hot Dogs!

... oh, and DinaWorks ("Don't forget me!")
