Torrs Walk Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

TheStickyLabel: Dear cachers.
Having already given over a months notice, I am sad to say that I am archiving this cache as my husband and I are moving from the Westcountry to live nearer to our family.
Thank you to all those who have found this cache and sorry to those who have not had the chance.
I have thoroughly enjoyed looking after my caches around North Devon but it is time to give them up and move on.
On collecting them in, if I come across any geocoins or TBs, I will place them in an active cache to keep them travelling.
All the best
Bev (TheStickyLabel)

Geocache Description:

The NATIONAL TRUST has very kindly given permission for me to place this cache.

The posted co-ordinates are for the NT FREE CAR PARK.

This is a multi cache, on a short circular walk taking you over part of the Torrs in Ilfracombe with some spectacular views and where you will be required to collect a number and answer questions in order to work out the co-ordinates for the final cache.

It should take under an hour and is approximately 1 mile in distance.

All the footpaths are well marked and you may come across sheep in the first section.
If you don't see any sheep, you will know where they have been!!!!

The first section of the walk is uphill (quite steep), but then it is down, down, down.... yippee!
(The going down is also quite steep so please watch your footing especially if it is wet).

AT STAGE 3 you will find a stone column with a bronze toposcope showing points of interest, distances to landmarks etc. The answer to this is not on the toposcope. You will need to get a reading from your GPS.

AFTER STAGE 3 you will need to go through a wooden gate to continue the multi cache. From here you will find your GPS going haywire, wanting you to go in strange directions. Ignore it and just keep going downhill following the zig-zag coastal footpath. Things will settle as you approach each set of co-ordinates, picking up clues on the way and don't worry, your GPS will take you to the final cache and then back to the car park. PLEASE KEEP TO THE FOOTPATH.

I suggest that you look for each stage individually and in order rather than as a route as your GPS might jump to the wrong stage because of the nature of the terrain.

After STAGE 6 and you have worked out the co-ordinates for the final cache, keep going forwards on the coastal path, although your arrow will show you otherwise, you and your GPS will come together as you approach GZ.

The final cache is a shallow square container with a log book and a few swaps. Also there is a £1 coin for the FTF. Congratulations Kevham1 and CeeKay1
The cache is right beside a footpath - a very popular area for walkers and their dogs, so stealth is required here please.
