Skookum Bear: As the cache owner has not indicated that they have visited the cache location to replace it if it was missing, perform needed maintenance, or verify that it is still there within a reasonable amount of time, I am regretfully archiving the cache to clear it from the active cache database and open the area to new caching opportunities. Geocache Description:

This is a memorial cache for my four-legged best friend Mr. Big who was known to most people as Biggie (or as Biglet when he was too little to be Big). The cache is placed with permission along his morning walking route where he liked to meet his many two- and four-legged friends. The neighbours are aware of the cache placement and will be watching for you but watch out for all the young muggles in the area. Access the cache from Carroll St.

Biggie was a long haired Akita with a heart of gold. He wasn’t always keen to meet other dogs because he thought that he was the alpha but he loved people and spent many years as a visitation dog for the Pets and Friends organization at a local extended care facility. For many people, a visit with Biggie was the highlight of the week. Visiting with Biggie was my daily highlight – there’s nothing better than a big fluffy dog waiting for you when you come home – even on those days when we’d immediately head out into a cold, dreary rainy night for a long walk around the neighbourhood or if Biggie had his way – a visit to the local pet store to go window shopping and get a free snack – he even had them trained to give him the “good” treats! Biggie loved to go for long walks but he never took the same route two days in a row because that was boring. Next to food and walks, he lived for car rides. I wasn’t allowed to go out (except to work) unless Biggie was riding next to me in the front seat helping with navigation. He was a great dog, loved by lots of people and I miss him so this cache is placed in his memory.

The cache is a round lock n’ lock with room for trading items. It is stocked with dog toys and other small trade items as well as copies of the recipe for his favourite homemade dog cookies (help yourself - no trade required). Since the cache is a memorial to Biggie, there are also photos of him – please leave them in the cache. There is an unregistered trackable for the FTF and a $5 gift certificate to a local pet store for the first geodog to find the cache with his geoparents.

There is a disposable camera in the cache for photos of geodogs (or geodogs with their owners) who visit Biggie’s cache. When the camera is full, I’ll post the photos on the cache page.

UPDATE: I've removed the camera since the neighbourhood kids were starting to play with it. The photos have been posted to the cache page. If i've missguessed your dog's name or didn't know it, please let me know and I'll update the photo. Please post a photo of your dog to add to the geodog photo collection. Kid photos also ok!
