Geocache Description:

C'mon out and enjoy a walk along the beautiful backmountain trail.

This rails to trails project has really come a long way, and plans to expand it are currently in the works. Eventually the trail system, which includes the Dyke system along the Susquehanna, will enable you to hike or ride your bike from one end of Luzerne County to the other. Grab this cache, and while your up here grab "gateway to the backmountain" - it will takey you on a nice 1.5 mile roundtrip hike from beginning to end. There is no official parking area, however there is on-street parking near the trail and a parking lot about 300 yards down the hill. Happy Caching!
