This is part of a series of geocaches laid out to celebrate the return of the Royal Canadian Air Force on 16 Aug 2011.

History:


410 Night Fighter Squadron formed in Scotland on 30 June 1941, and remained in Great Britain until 22 September 1944, when they moved to France. The squadron disbanded on 9 June 1945 at an airbase in the Netherlands. The squadron reformed on 1 December 1948, at RCAF Station St.Hubert as 410 Fighter Squadron flying the Vampire. The squadron moved to England on 15 November 1951, then to 4 Wing Baden-Soellingen on 14 November 1954, and finally to 1 Wing Marville, France. The squadron was disbanded at Marville on 2 October 1956, and reformed at RCAF Station Uplands (Ottawa) on 1 November 1956 as 410 All Weather Fighter Squadron flying the CF-100. The squadron was again disbanded on 1 April 1964 and reformed at CFB Bagotville on 11 March 1968 as 410 All Weather Operational Training Squadron flying the CF-101. On 11 June 1982, the squadron moved to CFB Cold Lake and re-equipped with the CF-18 as 410 Tactical Fighter (Operational Training) Squadron.
