Congratulations to la escondida on FTF !

This small stone cottage visible from the sidewalk at 525 S. Main Street, to the right of a magnificent live oak tree, is the only building remaining of the historic O'Grady Inn. During the 1850s, John G. O'Grady settled on the south bank of the Cibolo Creek and constructed several buildings for a rooming house. Separate from the main house where both food and lodging were provided to travelers, several small cottages were built to provide more private accommodations.

Records show that Colonel Robert E. Lee traveled through Boerne several times between 1856 and 1861 on his way to frontier forts serviced from San Antonio by the old government trail that passed nearby. It is said that Col. Lee spent the night of March 20, 1856 in this cottage now known as the Robert E. Lee House.

The cottage is on private property and is not currently open to the public. It is not necessary to enter the property to locate the nano geocache. Please remain on the public easement in front.
