Geocache Description:

This is on a loop that used to be part of Lorri-Ann & Kev's Scenic Trail and the Buff's Animal Trail. Have been coming here regularly for some time...in particular for the Short Eared Owls which were present in Winter 2011-12. It's a walk that will take a couple of hours on varied ground underfoot. All are 35mm containers and it's about the walk not the difficulty of the caching.....hope you enjoy....

Connecting the Northampton and Market Harborough via a high quality traffic-free path through the countryside, the Brampton Valley Way provides the perfect opportunity for a family day out. The route follows one of the longest dismantled railway paths in the country and was opened for recreational use in 1993.

Starting at the southern end of Britannia Walk, the path runs alongside Oaklands Park and crosses Scotland Road (take care). You soon then reach rolling open countryside, climbing gently to the marvellously spooky Oxenden tunnel (please use your lights) before crossing the flat valley of the little River Ise. From here, there are two detours where you can opt to visit local attractions such as Kelmarsh Hall, Brixworth Country Park and Lamport Steam Railway. There are also a number of pubs just off the route
