Geocache Description:


The Slocan Valley Rail Trail is a beautiful 50km ex-railroad trail that runs from South Slocan to Slocan City. Parking for this cache can be found south-east of this cache at the intersection of Highway 6 and the Slocan Valley West Road, where there is an ample parking area for the trail.

We have all heard of them and found them. Caches where the title, description, or hint are somehow related to the hide - in this case - the stump. Where ever we have travelled - Oregon, Washington, Hawaii, Ontario, Alberta - the stump cache is a favourite of hiders everywhere. And why not? A stump is an easy place to hide a decent sized cache in a spot generally off trail. But we always enjoy the variations of the puns involved in the descriptions. So this is our ode to the "cacher's wit". Here are some of our favourites:

"Stumped? So am I!"
"Don't let this cache stump you!"
"R U stumped?"
"This cache is stumping to be proud of!"
"Cache Name: Stumped. Hint: If you're looking in the rock pile, you're in the wrong spot"
"Hint: it's all in the name"

By the way, a casual search of the geocaching database using the word "stump" yields 3311 caches. There's even a "stumpfest" series in Michigan. Oops, make that 3312...

Located on the river side of the trail.

I won't lie, the last 15 feet to this one is a little bushy, and will be doubly so in the winter.
