The old Morton Avenue bridge was a wooden, rattly structure that
was often closed during floods (although it always survived them).
A new much more substantial bridge has now replaced it.
Neville Dowling Bridge (remains of old bridge on right)
The new bridge is higher and certainly a lot stronger. The current
work raising the Yass dam wall will also raise the level of the
river here.
The dirt road heading east is a pleasant drive (or ride) and
eventually loops around to bring you back into North Yass.
