Junk In The Trunk #1 Traditional Cache

KJunkins: Raymond448 notified us that this cache needed maintenance. When I went out to look at it, it was obvious that some folks are now using the GZ as a party spot. It is strewn with bottles and broken glass making it no longer safe for visiting. Also, the cache was muggled, but luckily not taken. I recovered the container and a few of the trinkets. The log book is long gone, but luckily there were no trackables to lose.

It is sad because this was a cool cache. Maybe we can do this again somewhere else.

Geocache Description:

The cache is full of cool JUNK, which may be replenished from time to time.

Best approach is from the parking coordinates.

These woods in a 100 year flood plain are at times marshy, and often thorny. The recommended approach (3) below is the safest, clearest and driest way to the GZ. This cache has a terrain difficulty of 3 (or more) depending on how you approach it.

If you come in from the East, DO NOT park on RT 13, as there is no shoulder. You would have to park at a local shopping center and urban hike along this busy road to a point to enter the woods. This direction is not recommended.

If you come in from the North, you have to come in from a private, gated community. This, also, is not recommended unless you know someone who lives here. Please be respectful of the community homeowners.

Your best approach is from the West, as indicated by the parking coordinates. This is an apartment complex that abuts the woods, and is the clearest way to get to the GZ.
