Geocache Description:

This is a regular cache just off a public footpath on a small island of woodland between the A3093 slip roads on and off the A303.

Fed up with micros and nanos? Here's one a bit bigger suitable for travel bugs and lots of swaps. The cache is a 2.5 litre plastic container well hidden (we hope) which we hope you enjoy finding.
We've often walked across this "island" of trees on our many walks around the area, however it is a bit tricky to get to and you should take extra care as the roads around here are very busy, being so close to the A303.
You can reach the cache site in 2 ways:

First, from the south-eastern end of Micheldever Road, cross over the eastbound off-slip from the A303 (look right and watch your children and dogs!). Follow the footpath through the trees then you'll then have to cross the road (more tricky with a bike - but we saw people do it just before we placed the cache). Please be very careful here as traffic joining and leaving the A303 goes quite fast along here. There is a way across, but you do have to weave your way there through the barriers! Then find your way to the cache site.

Or secondly, you can actually park quite close to the cache site at N 51° 12.041 W 001° 27.014, but to get here you will have to leave Andover on the A3093 and as the road splits just after the roundabout near the new housing estate (not shown on the satellite picture yet) stay on the main road which is the road towards Exeter. The parking is on the tarmac verge under the bridge (which is actually the A303), but you'll then have to clamber up the hill and through the trees to the north of the parking site (towards Andover) and reach the cache site that way.

To start with, the cache contains our first ever travel bug and a few swaps, a log book and a pencil.
Looking forward to see who will be first to find!
