Geocache Description:

Short walk or long hike with a Texas size view.

This is Great Hill. The highest point in the Town of Barnstable which is along the Sandwich town line. Below this overlook is 1000+ acres of the West Barnstable Conservation Land. Some of the best walking, hiking, and even biking trails I have come across on Cape Cod.

You can explore these woods as I did by parking at parking area 1, taking note of the trail map (I took a picture with my phone), and making one giant loop around the conservation land hitting all geocaches along the way with Great Hill as the half way point. Trails are very well marked and shown with great detail on the map. This makes for a very long but relatively easy walk. Perfect trails for walking the dog. Or you can park at parking option 2 and follow the trail to the right of the power lines directly to the summit and the cache.

Bring your kids, bring your dog, bring binoculars, and bring a folding chair to watch the spectacular sunsets.

A little side challenge. Can anyone name the locations of all the man made objects before you, and how about that giant hill on the horizon. Hmmmm

Please let me know about your experience in the online log. I love reading your stories!!
