Geocache Description:

"Would" you ever think of looking there? This is a winter friendly cache so long as we don't get more than a foot of snow. Otherwise might be hard to find! From this GZ you can bushwhack across the field to Cheese Run #6. Bring Tweezers!!

The farmers of New Braintree sent 200 tons of cheese, butter, and pork to market in Boston in 1822 by wagon. The charge for overland freight during the 20’s and early 30’s was about $10 per ton. Shipping via the railroad reduced cost to about $3.50 per ton. From the 18th century up until the early 19th century, cheese making in America was almost entirely a farmstead industry centered primarily in New England and along the East Coast.
