Obsessive Caching Disorder (OCD)
is an anxiety disorder characterized by constant thoughts of
geocaching that produce uneasiness, apprehension, fear, or worry
when not actively geocaching.
Symptoms of the disorder include constant thoughts of geocaching;
planning ridiculous geocaching trips or hoarding anything that
could possibly be used as a cache container.
These symptoms can be alienating and time-consuming, and often
cause emotional and financial distress. The acts of those who have
OCD may appear paranoid and potentially psychotic.
Unfortunately, there is no known cure for this disease – only
treatment. If you or a loved one has OCD, seek out your nearest
geocache and sign the log. Rinse and repeat until the symptoms
abate.
Take a bike ride on the
wonderful bike paths around the park or a walk along the splendid
walking trails and you will make some very interesting discoveries.
