Geocache Description:

A 2 part multi leading to a gold mine site in Chiltern Mt Pilot National Park

Golden Bar Mine was a major gold mining area which operated from the mid nineteenth century until as late as the 1970s (in a small way). There are many features you can look at and more information here ( (visit link) ). Read the information board!

The co-ordinates above take you to a picnic area near a dam in the National Park. Park at the picnic area and use the information board to work out the location of GZ, which is a 15 minute walk away uphill through the bush. The White Box Walking Track also goes close to GZ.

GZ is at 36deg 09.ABC 146deg 38.DEF

In 200A wildfires burned E000ha of the park.
The Park covers 21B65ha.
The White Box Walk takes C hours.
The Golden Bar mine went down 19D metres.
There are F letters in the brush-tailed phascogale's other name.

Cache when placed was a poly container with log, pen, some coins and a Gold Ingot TB, and also Poro, the Finnish reindeer travel bug.

The concrete foundations below GZ show the location of a stamper connected with the Golden Bar mine.

No dogs, watch for snakes and mine-shafts!
