Geocache Description:

Lawrence Pioneer Cemetery on Pentanguishene Rd.  (North end of Barrie) was once surrounded by farm land.  Today it sits at the end of a subdivison on the border of the City of Barrie and the Township of Oro-Medonte, near Hwy 11.

Lawerence Cemetery was purchased by a Methodist in 1844 from John and Clarrisa Lawerence with intentions to build a Methodist church. The church was never built but some of Barrie's well-known east end Pioneers are buried here including Charles Hickling, his wife and his 12 year old son Silas.
