The Choughly Saint's HALO Cache
Series
It’s based on parts of “The Saints Way”, a
circuit of some 22 miles, taking in coastline, moorland, a tor and
a selection of delightful towns and villages - with many spots to
stop for tea or if you’re that way inclined there’s a
lovely selection of fine Cornish Pubs on the way round.

There are 2 ladies vying for the title of
this cache.... Saint Wenna (born ca. AD 472; died 544) was a
Cornish saint and probably a Cornish queen. She founded the church
of Morval. She was known in Wales as Gwen ferch Cynyr, the daughter
of Lord Cynyr Ceinfarfog of Caer Goch in Pembrokshire. She married
King Salomon of Cornwall and became the mother of Saint Cybi. She
was also the aunt of Saint David. ( Holy lot her family aye ?!)
Another Saint Wenna (born ca. 463) was a princess and a daughter of
Brychan who founded the church of Talgarth and then evangelised
parts of north Cornwall. She founded the church of St Wenn and
chapels at St Kew and Cheristowe (in Stoke-by-Hartland, Devon).
Should be a simple find on a nice quiet lane. |

This cache is part of a 21 Mile circuit, placed
by a number of Cornish Cachers.
There are 14 Caches as part of the series that
may contain Rubber stamps that you can use to record your visit. If
you'd like to do this you'll need to carry your own stamp Pad.
There's a GeoPost Office as one of the caches -
if you wish to send a postcard then you'll need to carry a Royal
Mail stamp with you.
