The firing range nearby is a relic of the extensive military presence in Norton , and this pole once held a warning sign though just what you could have done about a stray bullet is anyones guess.
Its been a while since I walked this path and the signs seem relativly new , just how they will fit this hazardous pastime into the proposed new developments south of Worcester is interesting . Also , in the meantime beautiful galvanised gates have been put in where there were old rickity stiles making it disabled bike and dog friendly (just levels are a bit off at the southern gate). This cache is on a second sign allowing sufficient space to the splendid oak a little further on beside a dried up watercourse.
The sign is missing since being vandalised some time ago a similar sign can be found on the footpath nearer to the railway.
