Geocache Description:

Welcome to our fourth group of Geocaches in & around the Forest of Dean. Around English Bicknor is a circular route of about 5 miles, with English Bicknor as its centrepiece. The village is situated on a hill above the surrounding fields and woodland. It is a very old village with a Norman church & an ancient motte & bailey (the castle no longer exists). The village was first recorded as a hamlet as early as 1066. There are 9 caches in the series & some lovely views along the way.

As the title of the cache suggests you are looking for a pair of very tall, very obvious twin fir trees. These are located on one of the busiest sections of the whole route – Muggles will be upon you in seconds, from either direction, on bikes or on foot!! Please try to be inconspicuous when picking up & returning the cache container – there is a bench a few yards down the track, which we had to use when hiding the cache, as we arrived at a very busy period.

Note on the right hand side of the track as you walk along this section the stream, which has been developed to encourage Frogs, Newts & other aquatic creatures to breed in the area.

Our thanks to the Forestry Commission for allowing us to place the cache on their land.
