[SV]: Enkel nano inom synhåll från cacheägarens köksfönster på Hästhovsgatan. Tomten behöver inte beträdas.

[EN]: Simple nano within sight of the cache owners kitchen window on Hästhovsgatan. Not necessary to enter private garden.

[SV]: Källan till namnet "Hästhovsgatan" är okänt, men det är dock väl omvittnat att innan gatan bebyggdes fanns rikligt med hästhovsört (tussilago) i området.

Kålltorpsdalen stadsbebyggdes under 1920- och 1930-talet. Området öster om Råstensgatan samt Hästhovsgatan bebyggdes sent under denna period, i slutet av 1930-talet. Funktionalismen hade då slagit igenom på allvar och husen fick enligt tidens krav högre sidoväggar och mindre brant lutande sadeltak än sina föregångare som kan ses på gatorna norr om Hästhovsgatan. Ungefär halva gatan bebyggdes innan andra världskriget, byggnationen stod dock still under kriget på grund av materialbrist och de obebyggda tomterna lär ha utnyttjats till potatisodling. Man kan se vilka byggnader som byggdes efter kriget - de är aningen större än de äldre husen.

Husen var från början tvåfamiljshus med träfasad, men under årens lopp har renovering gjort att fasadbeklädnaden varierar (puts, eternit, mm.) och en del av husen är ombyggda till enfamiljshus. Flera av husen har inretts med studentbostäder i källare och på vind.

[EN]: The source of the street name Hästhovsgatan ("Horse Hoof street") is not known, but it is known that the area was rich in Coltsfoot (Tussilago farfara) before it was built up.

The Kålltorp valley was urbanized during the 1920s and 30s. The area east of Råstensgatan and Hästhovsgatan was built late in this period, during the late 1930s. The current building trend mandated higher sidewalls and more shallowly inclined roofs than its predecessors, which can be seen to the north of Hästhovsgatan. About half the buildings were built before the second world war, but building was halted during the war due to scarcity of materials. The unbuilt lots were allegedly used for potato cultivation during the war. The houses built after the war can be identified by their somewhat larger size.

The houses were originally two family houses with wood facades. During the years renovation has resulted in a larger variation of appearances, including mortar and Eternit (asbestos) and several of the houses are now one family houses. Several of the houses also contain student apartments in cellars and attics.
