Geocache Description:

Lyme Regis, birthplace of Mary Anning, and featured location in the works of Jane Austen and John Fowles.

The co-ordinates above are not for the cache, but will take you to the refurbished Marine Parade shelters, opened on the 9th July 2011 in the final stage of the seafront's regeneration programme.
Parking is available throughout the town, though the cheapest (All day for £1.70 as of 09/01/2011) can be found up the hill at the provided waypoint.

The cache can be found at the following co-ordinates;
N 050.AB.CDC W 002.CE.GDB

In order to find the cache, you will need to complete the following questions, the answers to which can be found on the Jurassic Coast information board within the shelters (to the right of the information centre).

What age are the rocks found on the Undercliff Reserve?
Answer: DGG million years.

What is the number of the bus service running between Exeter and Bournemouth?
Answer: xCB.

How old are the rocks that form Portland Bill along the coast to the East?
Answer: 1AG million years.

What is the number of the road running between Exeter and Exmouth?
Answer: aBFE

Once you have the co-ordinates, you will be on your way to a building that has stood, in various forms, on the same site since 1340. In 1991 a group of dedicated volunteers formed a charitable trust dedicated to restoring it to present condition, and the official reopening took place in 2001.

At time of placement, the cache contained a logbook and biro in watertight bag, and various swaps. Please swap for items of equal or better value and desirability.
In addition, the charitable trust would love to see who comes to visit their historic building! A disposable camera was left at time of placement, please feel free to take a picture of yourselves with the building in the background, before returning the camera to the cache.

Unfortunately, the cache is not accessible by wheelchairs or prams on account of steps, but shouldn't present anyone else with problems.

Caches to grab whilst in the area include 'Cobblers! (Dorset)' (GCHDZH) and 'The Gardens of Lyme Regis' (GC151H2), and there are several others within a few miles.
