Coords will take you a place where you will receive actual cache coords. for gz. Exceptional Value refers not to the contents of cache, but to the land. Total trip is about a mile and a half.
Welcome to the Exceptional Value Cache aka The Choke Creek Falls Cache. The land that the cache is located on now belongs to you and me. This was not always so; I hope to give you some history.
In October, 2010, 2,650 acres of prime upland forest, several miles of waterways,significant wetland acreage and ideal habitat for black bear, bobcat, river otter, fisher, snowshoe hares and white tailed deer was added to Lackawanna State Forest.
Also in 2010, the Upper Leigh River Basin (the land of this cache) was awarded the Exceptional Value designation. One of the organizations who worked so hard to have this designation awarded was CARE - a non profit organization dedicated to protect the headwaters of the Leigh River and it's watershed. Elevation to the EV status is the state's highest level of water quality and reflects the unique ecological and aquatic value of the water.
As part of CARE's ongoing concern for the river, volunteers test water from the tributaries which flow into the river once a month. For more information, go to NPCare@att.nct
