Cottonwood Cemetery, also known as Odd Fellow Cemetery, is located a couple miles north of Cottonwood in Jackson County, SD. There are approximately 208 internments here, the oldest dating 1907.
To get to the cemetery, turn north on Main Street off US Highway 14 into the small town of Cottonwood. Follow this street for 3 blocks, then turn left on Maple. This will turn north and become Dakota St. Follow this road until you come to a fence gate just beyond an abandoned farm. Be sure to close and re-chain the gate as you pass through both ways. The cemetery is ahead of you on the right. You can park at the cemetery gate.
You do not have to enter the cemetery grounds to find the cache. If a service is in progress, or if there is someone here maintaining a grave site, please come back at a later time. If you do chose to visit the cemetery, please pay due respect and do not disturb any of the markers or headstones. Follow any and all posted cemetery regulations. Most importantly, do NOT look for this cache after dark.
You are looking for a soda preform tube. There is a pencil in the cache, but bring your own writing stick just in case the one in there grows legs and walks away. Please return the cache exactly as found, making sure it remains well-hidden.
