Yes the coordinates are correct and no, this is not the first stage of a multi-cache. This is in fact almost a degree Confluence.
What on earth is a degree Confluence?
A degree confluence is the exact spot where an integer degree of latitude and an integer degree of longitude meet.
There are 64,442 latitude and longitude degree intersections in the world (counting each pole as one intersection) of which 21,543 are on land, 38,409 on water, and 4,490 on the Arctic ice cap.
I have often driven up the summerland Way and taken notice when I crossed the 29th Degree of Latitude. This point on the Summerland Way is also very close to 153 degrees East and thus within a few hundred metres of a Degree Confluence.
Unfortunately the exact point is on private property as are most in NSW.
There is sufficient room to pull over on the side of the road and visit this point, however please take care and give ample warning to following vehicles as this is a 100km/h zone.
The cache is a small round screw top container. It holds a log book and a few items I picked up on my recent trip to Africa.
There is a “Found It” key tag for the First to find.
