Welcome to Flaggy Rock, QLD – a little place in the middle of nowhere, with nothing much except an ice cream shop! Flaggy Rock is on the Bruce Highway, approx. 230km north of Rockhampton and 110km south of Mackay. The district was named Flaggy Rock because of the hard rock that formed the road many years ago and originally it was a horse change-over station for coaches along the highway.
This is an excellent place to rest and a great driver reviver. It is a family friendly cache in a family friendly location, with plenty room for the kids to run around in the shade, a small playground, clean toilets and other things to see and do.
Please note this is only accessible between the hours of 9am to 4pm daily and it may be closed some public holidays.
A popular and friendly rest stop means there could be plenty of muggles around to keep you on your toes! The container is a clear Sistema box with a TB for the FTF. Also contains log book, pencil, grasshopper, red dice, dinosaur and coloured pencils. Thanks to Viv who will maintain this cache in our absence!
