Oberhalb von Oberweißenbrunn, am Teufelsberg, entspringt die Brend, die Namensgeberin für das gesamte Tal ist. Sie schlängelt sich kilometerlang bis nach Bad Neustadt, wo sie in die Fränkische Saale mündet.
